George Springer’s girlfriend Charlise Castro recently said yes to a clever proposal. He orchestrated the proposal on a tropical beach. It’s a classic move since your girlfriend is more likely to say yes in a beautiful location. Of course, if he asked her in the boiler room underneath Minute Maid Park, she would still say yes. However, I like this guy’s style because he planned it out and made it flashy. This is almost always the best way to do it if you are a professional athlete. It gets you some good public relations points since the media will be curious about the proposal anyway.
So George Springer’s girlfriend walked onto the beach with him and soon found out what the plan was. He wrote “will you marry me” in the sand in big letters. She saw the letters, and he dropped to his knee. Obviously we’re not privvy to exactly what was said but you can be sure it was something smooth and suave. Then he asked her officially. It’s a can’t lose situation, folks. Also, the guy plays pro baseball and makes good money. How could she say no? Maybe if he forgot to put the mosquito net down the night before and the bugs ate them up she might have said no.
For a long time, George Springer’s girlfriend was kept a mystery. But after news of the smooth proposal hit, folks found out more. Charlise originally hails from Kingston New York, where she was a standout athlete. Charlise played softball for the Puerto Rico national team after her sophomore year of school. In her senior season at Albany, she was named to the NCAA Division I Eugene All-Regional Team. Charlise is a tall drink of water, checking in at 5’10”. For his part, George is 6’3″, so height will be no problem for their future offspring.
George is in the middle of an MVP caliber season, so obviously wedding plans need to wait. According to their wedding registry, January 2018 looks to be the official date of the nuptials. Best of luck to George and Charlise.
