Don Shula’s wife Mary Anne Shula was in the picture for almost 27 years before Don passing away in 2020.  And according to the coach, Mary Anne has a great business mind.  Mary helped get him into the restaurant game, and which he continued late into his life.  Don’s son David Shula also has most of the responsibility since he runs the restaurant empire.

Mary Anne was previously married to a man named Jackson T. Stephens.  Stephens was a CEO for an investment bank, clocking in a net worth around $380 million. At the time of her divorce, she was awarded $1 million a year for life, and a house in Indian Creek Island.  Mary Anne later brought her stepson to court in a high profile alimony case.  She was concerned over the distribution of higher priced items would ultimately drain the estate.  No word on the final settlement.

Jadeveon Clowney’s girlfriend Najah Re Martin has got a pretty nifty name, wouldn’t you say? Sounds very Star Wars to me. She’s also got a little kid thanks to the big fella’. They had their son,​ ​Jahlil​, ​in mid October of 2015.​ This was indeed a happy time for Jadeveon ​in a year that was marred badly by another personal event which we’ll get to. Najah ​has an extremely positive outlook: stressing the idea of positivity above all else. For instance, she tweeted “Negative vibes or a lack of positive ones is a quick way to get cut off. Friend, family, foe.”​  While many level-headed folks might call this positive-centric approach insidious, facile, and even dangerous, the other way to look at it is that she’s a big fan of anything and everything that makes her feel empowered. We’re all entitled to our opinions, after all (even if Najah will cut you off for having too many negative ones). Jadeveon Clowney’s girlfriend is very much in love with Jadeveon, and she often cites how often she prays for him. She has said that she prays for him and thinks about him more than anyone, and that is how she knows she loves him.

Professionally, Najah is a makeup artist.  Her Insta bio notes that she is a Certified Production Makeup Artist, meaning she’s not just working the Macy’s counter.  She’s kind of a big deal in that world.  Makes sense that two extraordinarily talented people would find their way together.

​Jadeveon has had a bit of a rough time with his family recently. His father, David Morgan, shot a handgun at two men at a strip club in August of 2015. He’s facing up to a sixty-year sentence. Yikes, no wonder Jadeveon Clowney’s girlfriend says she’ll cut off people with negative vibes! Shooting bullets at people tends to be seen in a pretty negative light. Jadeveons’ father was sent to prison for eleven years when Jadeveon was two years old. They allegedly reconciled when he was a teenager, but this will certainly put a strain on the relationship.

Man, where do we begin to unpack this story of Earl Thomas, Earl Thomas’ wife, Earl Thomas’ brother, a gun, an orgy, and a very scorned woman.

Let’s check in with Earl’s perspective on things first:

“Stuff like this happens, bro.”

That’s a direct quote from him.  Not out of context, and we’ll link to a video of it below.  But, here’s the insanity that is this story.

TMZ broke the story of a violent encounter between Earl and Nina Thomas on April 13, 2020.  The story goes down like this.

Austin, TX police were called to the Thomas home at 3:41 am for a disturbance call.  When they arrived, they found Earl Thomas’ wife brandishing a knife, and Earl Thomas with a gun hiding behind a vehicle.

Nina alleges that the couple got into an argument earlier in the day over his drinking, and Earl left with his brother.  Nina wanted to know where he was, so logged into his Snapchat account, finding a video of Earl and another woman sending her into a rage.  Snap strikes again, and she was able to track him to a rental home.  On the way, Nina picked up two friends and a pistol to confront Earl…. but only to scare hi!

Things only escalated from there.  Because when Nina arrived, she found Earl and his brother in bed…. with other women….. naked.

We’ll let TMZ pick up some of the story from there:

That’s when Nina admits she pulled out the gun and put it to Earl’s head — stating “that she took out the magazine thinking that the gun could not fire.” But, cops say Nina was “unaware that the gun had a round in the chamber.”

Cops say one of the women in the house shot cell phone video of the incident … which they say shows Nina pointing the gun at Earl’s head “from less than a foot away and it can clearly be seen that Nina’s finger was on the trigger and the safety is disengaged.”

Fortunately for Earl, cops say the Ravens defensive back was able to wrestle the gun away from her.

Cops say the cell phone video also shows Nina striking Earl in the nose before it ends.

Cops also spoke with Earl, who essentially corroborated the story … adding that Nina repeatedly hit him while he attempted to take the firearm away.

In an interview with Earl’s alleged mistress at the scene, she claimed Nina also threatened her and the other woman in the house — pointing the gun at them and yelling “I got something for all you hoes!”

Holy shit, I need a drink to calm down after reading that.  As for Earl?  He’s not swayed.  That full quote he put on Insta?

“Stuff like this happens, bro. We’re trying to live the best life we possibly can, but sometimes it doesn’t go as planned.”

Man, I guess so, Earl.  I guess so.

Earl Thomas’ wife Nina Heisser is proof positive that life is good for the All-Pro. Thomas is working hard to make his name known nationally (and working opposite Richard Sherman, it’s easy to be overshadowed), Life for the 29 year old All Pro is going pretty great, and well, why wouldn’t it?

September 24, 2012 – an eventful evening!

In September, 2012, Earl was set to square off against Green Bay in the infamous Golden Tate Inaccurate Reception game. Hours before kickoff, Nina went into labor with their first child, daughter Kaleigh Rose Thomas. Earl decided to suit up with the rest of the team, and took on Green Bay later that day. Kaleigh was born about 15 minutes before kickoff, but before the first half was over, Nina wanted to let the world know that Kaleigh was watching her dad in her mom’s arms:

Not a ton known about Nina. Her Twitter bio doesn’t go far saying, “Blessed beyond measure . Kaleigh Rose Thomas . Living life & all it has to offer w/ The love of my life : @Earl_Thomas #goseahawks Seattle to everywhere ” (We should note that’s back when she had a Twitter account which now since seems defunct).  The couple proudly show off their daughter on Twitter and Instagram, while also celebrating in all of of Earl’s on field successes.

Earl Thomas’ girlfriend became Earl Thomas’ wife in April of 2016.  The high school sweethearts tied the knot in a lavish affair.  The wedding saw Earl Thomas rock a crown.  And while some may say it sounds gauche, I can tell you definitively it was not.  It was dope, and my god I wish I could pull that style off.  There was an enormous wedding party, which worked well with the entire overall event.

Since the birth of Kaleigh, the couple has had two more kids.  Earl will occasionally proudly show them off on Instagram, most notably in a memorable life event like moving to Baltimore.

Drew Brees’ wife Brittany Brees gave birth to three sons and a daughter. As each of the couple’s three previous children was a boy, Brittany finally has some company with the fourth child installment coming in the female variety. They named their kids Rylen, Callen, Bowen, and Baylen. I have to say, I don’t like any of those names. I would have rather they named their kids Seven, Ballin’, Clappin’, and Brewin’. But hey, that’s just me. I guess when you win a Super Bowl, you start to want things in sets.

She went on to say she pretends that nothing is wrong and things are just an average day during a Super Bowl. She then added that inside she just wants to throw up. There’s a lot of nervous energy when your husband is going to the Super Bowl. That was back in 2010 when the Saints won against the Colts.

A look at Drew Brees on social media paints a picture of a family man, and her wife is everywhere with him and their kids. In an interview with Dan Patrick on the Thursday, the New Orleans Saints quarterback said he wouldn’t want his wife, Brittany Brees, to worry about him.

When Patrick asked Brees if he would tell his wife if he got his “bell rung” in a game, he replied, “No.”

Drew Brees and his wife Brittany are becoming increasingly known for their charitable endeavors. They recently gave $2,000,000 to Purdue to help enhance Purdue’s athletic programs. Baron Corbin’s wife Rochelle Roman attended the Dallas Cowboys AT&T Stadium to watch Baron win the Battle Royal. The event took place in April of 2016, and it ushered in Mr. Corbin as a new main roster talent. This type of event introduces new talent because the winner usually receives more opportunities. Since then, Corbin has won championships, Money In the Bank, King of the Ring, and headlined countless events.  It’s an impressive rocketship to the main event.  Rochelle stood only slightly taller than the trophy that Baron won Andre Memorial. The metal part itself featured Andre The Giant standing upright. She looked to stand about two or three inches taller than it. If I had to estimate her height, I’d say she stands about 5’5″. Baron stands 6’8″.

Now that’s a trophy!

Baron went out with two of his musician friends back in December of 2015. They hung out at a restaurant and took photos, and his friend fooled Baron Corbin’s wife into thinking he took pictures of them while he snapped selfies of himself. That’s modern hijinks for you, folks. The old group photo selfie scam. Baron Corbin is friends with a woman named Alicia Way whom attended the hangout. Since she used to play guitar and tour the states, she figures professional wrestling might be fun to try now too!

Dogs and kids!

The couple own a huge Great Dane named Xander. Baron describes the dog as a giant goofball since his antics are frequent and comic. They posted a picture of him trying to sneakily creep up on a dinner Baron was eating. The dog is too big to be sneaky though. Baron Corbin’s girlfriend frequently attended rock and metal concerts in the early days of their relationship. I know this because she stood with him in pictures with musicians after shows. I don’t know if they go to many rock shows now since Baron is increasingly busy in the WWE. Lastly, the couple traveled to Guatemala to pose in front of Tikal Ruins. The photo is pretty amazing since the temple itself is so impressive.

In 2019, the heel Corbin had a personal life babyface turn when Baron and Baron Corbin’s wife welcomed their first daughter into the world.  Tough to keep up the tough exterior when you post sunset pics like this.

Eighteen months ago, writing a post about Becky Lynch’s husband to be Seth Rollins would have absolutely been reversed.  For sure we would have been talking about Seth Rollins girlfriend, and Seth Rollins wife instead.  But ever since that fateful attempt at a heel turn in Summer Slam 18, Becky Lynch became the Man, and the rest is history.  There is no star that shines brighter in the wrestling world.  Even though Seth Rollins might be a top 5 star in the entire company, he’s still the #2 name on the marquee in their relationship.

But, for now, Becky Lynch’s husband is still technically Becky Lynch’s boyfriend.

Or to be even more technical, it’s still just fiancee if you prefer.  These two began dating at shortly before the Royal Rumble in 2019.  It was a good weekend for them both, as they both won their respective rumble matches, AND shared their first kiss.  I hate the fact I know this information off the top of my head, but when you watch as many WWE Network documentaries as I do, it’s out there for you plain as day.  In fact, here is another kiss immediately following Rollins winning the Universal Title from Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 35.  Again.  Another thing I first learned from WWE Network documentary.  Le sigh.

The couple got engaged in Maui in August of 2019, though no word on if the wedding has taken place.  Hell, with the COVID-19 crisis, even if there was a wedding planned, it almost certainly has been put on hold.  But, COVID-19 ain’t stopping biology……

The night after the 2020 Money In the Bank Pay-Per-View, Becky Lynch opened Monday Night Raw by revealing personal news.  She relinquished the Raw Women’s Title in the briefcase, while also revealing some personal news.

That’s right, Becky Lynch is going from The Man, to The Mom.  We’re certainly assuming Becky Lynch’s husband to be, Seth Rollins had a hand in this momentous life occasion.  Wrestlers hook up all the time; Macho and Liz, Cena and Nikki, Zelina and Aleistair, Lana and Rusev, Charlotte and Andrade, and on and on and on.  These two are at the peak of the industry, and also seem like two of the cooler in the business.  Love to see news like this even if it means Becky if off screen for a while.

We know she’ll be back.  There’s still that Ronda rematch to headline Mania in 2021, right!

The Miz’s wife Maryse Mizanin is a former WWE Diva (although she’s back in the picture again). Since she won the Diva belt twice, she is very well-known. She claims nearly 800,000 followers on Instagram as of early April 2017. The Miz himself claims over 1,000,000 followers on that platform. There’s certainly a reason Maryse refers to them as the “it couple” because they’re a big deal! They married each other in The Bahamas in February of 2014. Yes, they are in love. Yes, the chemistry is real. They have a great time together and genuinely enjoy each other’s company

Obviously, this couple loves to spend time in the gym! The Miz’s wife posts pictures all the time there. She knows just about every single possible workout in the world. Clearly, she does a good job too! She looks flawless every time she goes out there in front of a camera. This also has a lot to do with her nutrition and diet. She clearly eats a very disciplined diet. I’m positive this is true of The Miz also, outside his quick dad-bod phase. Of course, there’s a few exceptions sometimes when you can indulge and eat something bad. We’re only human! I just want to comment on hair color in the WWE Diva world. How do they all get their hair to be so platinum blonde and white? This color looks amazing.

The couple own a Miniature Pinscher named Pumpkin. He’s a very cute dog, and The Miz’s wife posts pictures of him lounging around the house. He generally wears a look of curiosity and slight bewilderment. Maryse also hangs out with other WWE Divas. This is the life of a big star, people. If you make it big in the WWE, your friends will also be big WWE stars. That’s how the business generally works. There’s a few exceptions but these guys like to hang out with their colleagues. For example, Maryse is close friends with Kandee Johnson and Barbie Blank. They’re all incredible, charismatic stars. Naturally, they are all drawn to each other and friends.

In April, 2018, Maryse gave birth to the couple’s first child.  Monroe Sky Mizanin was born right around Wrestlemania, and became a prominent figure on their USA reality show, Miz and Mrs.  Madison Jade Mizanin was born in late 2019.  With Miz still a road warrior for 250 nights a year, The Miz’s wife sure has her hands full.  Thank god for MarJo, right?!?!

Back in May of 2014, we wrote about Adam Silver and his then girlfriend Maggie Grise. Well, Adam Silver’s wife Maggie Grise married him in May of 2015. So we missed the wedding by a year, but we knew about the lady ahead of time, at least. Maggie is an interior designer in New York City. She pays very close attention to the overall form and function of apartments. She thinks deeply about how best to arrange them and what should go in them. It’s a cool occupation, and I can tell she’s very good at it. Previously, I looked at some of her work on a website, and it was impressive.

Adam Silver’s wife developed a relationship with him since at least the start of 2014. I believe it started at least back in 2013. In a candid interview with Matt Lauer, Mr. Silver revealed his marriage plans about a month before they were to take place. Then, he revealed he wished to have children with Maggie! It seemed a bit surprising for the personal quality of the interview, but these are very human wishes and desires, of course. The NBA Commissioner is human, folks! Anyway, the wedding took place in May of of 2015, as planned.

Since they both value their privacy, no wedding pictures appear on the internet. However, Adam Silver’s wife appeared with him at the White House at a state dinner. The dinner honored the Prime Minister of Canada and his wife. It looked very fancy. Maggie dressed in a lovely blue gown, and Adam wore a tuxedo. I don’t know why Adam was invited, but it might simply have been because former President Obama is a basketball fan. The couple approached their one-year anniversary when the dinner took place in March of 2016. Since that time, they celebrated two years married and look very strong and stable!

Kofi Kingston’s wife is named Kori Campfield.  Let’s get that out of the way now.  But for WWE fans out there, we have one critical question to ask you all.

Of course WWE fans know his stage name is Kofi Kingston.  And, most people like me assumed it was close to his real name as is so often done in the world of sports entertainment.  (Which, is so done in order for Vince to own and market your in-ring name).  But, do you know what his drivers license says?

That’s a mouthful.  Now, as for Kofi Kingston’s wife?  It appears Kori made the smart move and kept it Kori Campfield.  Kofi and Kori have two kids together, who both stole the show following their dad’s legendary Wrestlemania 35 WWE Championship victory.  Khi was born in 2013, and Orion born in 2016.  Can you imagine if these two hyphenated their names?  Khi and Orio Sarkodie-Mensah-Campfield?  Try fitting that on the back of a jersey.

Despite Kofi being an adored WWE Superstar with plenty of ring rats available to him, Kofi Kingston’s wife is quick to get love on social media to his million plus followers.

There isn’t a ton of information readily available about Kori, but Kofi Kingston’s wife self assesses herself saying:

Kevin Harvick’s wife DeLana Harvick is the daughter of the late John Paul Linville. Linville is a former driver who had a racing career on the Busch Series.  DeLana grew up at the tracks and around cars.  This obviously fed into her knowledge of the sport. Instead of pursuing her original goal of being a teacher, she joined Jeff Gordon’s publicity team. After starting her NASCAR career with Gordon, she became a car owner and the day-to-day manager of Kevin Harvick, Inc. She specifically focuses on licensing, merchandising, and managing the employees. The couple has also founded the Kevin Harvick Foundation. The Foundation aims to assist underprivileged children in need.

But, things between Kevin and DeLana Harvick began long before the Foundation

Kevin Harvick’s wife DeLana Harvick first met him at a driver school.  But, it wasn’t until a Christmas party in 1999 that they were formally introduced.  They dated for a year before a Christmas, 2000 engagement. They were then married on February 28, 2001. That’s a whirlwind of a courtship. The couple’s first child, son Keelan Paul Harvick, was born on July 8. The couple embraced the 21st century technology by announcing the birth on Twitter

Kevin Harvick’s wife was brought into the limelight following an incident in 2010. Harvick got into Logano late at a race in Pocono. A then 18 year old NASCAR driver Joey Logano was quoted as saying:

It’s probably not his fault. His wife wears the fire suit in the family and tells him what to do, so it’s probably not his fault

Immediately after the comment, Delana posted to her Twitter account, “with age comes wisdom & respect… Enough said.”

Joey Logano’s wife Brittany Logano had two pumpkins in the backseat of their newlywed ride.

Great foresight, actually.

We’ll get back to that foresight soon enough.  But, as for the wedding day.  The automobile was a white Cadillac Eldorado from the late 50’s (the kind with the huge shark fin tails). I just thought it was a quirky and interesting detail– like, “Don’t forget the marriage pumpkins!” There was also another newlywed ride, if any of you care; a large wagon truck. It was the kind they use to cart people around at apple orchards. So now you know exactly what Joey Logano was driving around in after his marriage, and it wasn’t a NASCAR.

I should mention the story behind Joey Logano’s wife Brittany Logano and the little feud that Joey and Kevin Harvick had almost 10 years ago. They bumped into each other in some race and Logano spun out, ending his race. He said afterwards in a post-race interview, “It’s probably not his fault. His wife wears the firesuit in the family and tells him what to do.” So flash forward five years and Kevin Harvick’s wife DeLana sends Brittany Logano a t-shirt that reads, “I wear the firesuit in this family!” Very nice, DeLana. There’s even a picture posted by DeLana Harvick on Twitter of Brittany Logano holding up the t-shirt, smiling, and holding a note that reads, “welcome to the NASCAR wives club.”

Joey Logano’s wife Brittany Logano also regularly maintains her Facebook page, and on it there’s a picture of the couple with their dog. Now, the dog looks like a healthy and vibrant young fellow, but I’m going to go ahead and say that, unlike the very photogenic couple, their dog will not be winning any beauty contests any time soon. There’s a photograph of the couple sitting on a huge green apple, looking really good, and then their proud and excitable dog, looking extraordinarily goofy. Good times with the Logano family mascot.

Back to that pumpkin foresight comment?

Oh, right.  Of course.  Joey Loganos wife Brittany Logano is back to lugging two pumpkins around in the backseat again.  Only this time, it ain’t gourds.

Yes, Brittany has given birth to the couples two children.  The oldest, Hudson Joseph Logano was born in January, 2018.  Jameson Jett Logano entered the world smack in the middle of the 2020 quarantine, born on May 7, 2020.  The Logano’s have their hands full with or without a global pandemic!

On May 18, 2020, news came out that Starling Marte’s wife Noelia passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.  Starling took to social media to reveal the news.

Starling Marte’s wife Noelia Marte leaves behind two young children.  Their daughter celebrated her fourth birthday just days before Marte took to social media to reveal the passing of Noelia.

As a father of young children, I cannot fathom doing this alone.  Our genuine thoughts and prayers are with Starling, his children, and the entire Marte family at this time.

Starling Marte’s wife Noelia Marte gave birth to a healthy young son in September of 2013.  Ever since then she’s been as busy as you could expect a young mother to be. Noelia is from the Dominican Republic just like Starling.  In the same year that Noelia gave birth to their son, they traveled to a special award ceremony in Santo Domingo to receive a custom-made plaque from the mayor of the city. It’s a pretty charmed life if you have got the skillset that Mr. Marte possesses.

Starling Marte’s wife Noelia Marte still lives in the Dominican Republic at least part of the time.  The two met through one of Starling’s cousins. According to a Pittsburgh paper, Noelia and Starling’s son is named Starling Jr., and he also spends most of his time in the Dominican. Noelia has a degree in general accounting that she attained in Santo Domingo, and she’s a religious lady just like her husband. Incidentally, the story of her husband’s recruitment is a fairly standard scout’s tale.

According to a scout named Rene Gayo of the Pirates organization, he was passed on at the age of 18 as a short-stop because he had some timing issues. Gayo said he wasn’t very good at it, but they tried him out in left-field, and they saw what a cannon he has for an arm. They also saw a good hitter with incredible base-running speed. That was enough for Gayo to offer Starling’s manager 75 grand and give him a shot at being a professional in America. It’s been a great change for Starling Marte’s wife Noelia Marte too. They both grew up in extremely challenging poverty the likes of which very few Americans are exposed to. You can imagine what a step up it’s been for their budding family.

We mentioned Ty Dillon’s wife Haley Dillon back in 2014 before she married him.

And now that she’s Ty Dillon’s wife, she’s officially taken his last name.

She classifies herself as an actor, but her actual job was to dance for the Charlotte Hornets. Yes, she was a cheerleader for the Hornets, and she looks fantastic in the outfit! Haley also hangs out with some of her friends whom she dances with. As you might imagine, they all keep in spectacular shape in order to look great on the court. Ty and Haley also own a French Bulldog named Bubba whom shows up on her social media now and again. French Bulldogs are photogenic and always read well on social media.

In November of 2017, Ty and Haley welcomes their first child to the world.  A daughter, Oakley Ray Dillon.

In addition to her dance career, Haley skillfully crafts cakes. She’s so good that she posts tutorials on Youtube. She’s the person to teach cake construction because she proves it in those videos. If you want to learn how to make a guitar cake, look no further. I know this sounds funny, but a guitar cake is a difficult thing to make and takes skill to pull off. Hers was flawless. Ty Dillon’s wife possesses some real baking chops. For Halloween, Haley created a Frankenstein cake that looked awesome. I respect these creative pursuits.

Home is where the,…. what is?

I honestly can’t decide where the Dillons spend their time during the year. It certainly appears they live in Charlotte for much of the year. However, they spend a fair amount of time in Montana as well. I believe Haley’s family lives there. They ski a lot. In the summer of 2016, Ty Dillon’s wife traveled to Rio De Janeiro for the Olympics. I believe only Haley traveled there without Ty because it was for the Charlotte Hornets dancers, the Honeybees. Ty didn’t appear in any of the pictures. That’s a cool trip to score thanks to the Hornets organization!

Kyle Busch’s wife Samantha Busch (Sarcinella) graduated from Purdue University with a degree in psychology.  She admits that she hopes to pursue a career in leadership coaching.  As someone who just came out of a four-day leadership seminar, I can tell you the right coach is key.  During school, Sam worked as an aerobics instructor and as a promotional model.  Samantha’s work including events to raise awareness for the United Way, cardiac care and breast cancer.

A meeting in Indy

Kyle Busch’s wife served as his girlfriend for almost three years after meeting at a race in Indianapolis in 2007.  Kyle proposed at Speedweek at Daytona, in February, 2010 and married his wife on December 31, 2010.  Their wedding was featured in a segment for Style Network.

Kyle and Sam tour the country in a motor home traveling from race to race, with Kyle openly admitting:

Our motor home is like our home away from home. She helped me build and design, it so it’s kind of our first home together.

Kyle kicked off the 2010 season and their first night in their new motor home by getting down on one knee.  The driver presented Sam with a custom designed vintage diamond engagement ring. Not a bad way to pop the question, especially considering their first date was at TGI Friday’s.

And a baby makes three

Kyle Busch’s wife Samantha Busch gave birth to the couple’s first son, Brexton Locke Busch in May, 2015.  TMZ was kind enough to show off a picture of Sam just 6 days after giving birth.   Folks.  It was 6 days later.   Clearly mom and son were doing just fine.

If there was a first wife of the PGA Tour, it would have to be Phil Mickelson’s wife Amy Mickelson, right? I guess you could have made the case for Tiger and Elin but after the incident with the 9-iron I don’t think they qualify anymore. Call me crazy but Amy doesn’t strike me as the type who would hunt Phil down with a club (well at least not for the reasons Elin chased Tiger around).

Married 20+, and together even longer.  Phil and Amy Mickelson have been in each other’s life since their time at Arizona State University.  They met in 1992, while he was playing golf, and she was on the Phoenix Suns cheerleading team.  Incredible that both were working professional sports before either graduated from school.  The two had their first date on a tennis court, and kismet from there.  Early in the relationship, Phil showed off by taking her to a Celebrity Pro-Am in California.  Not a bad way to impress your new girlfriend.

The two married in 1996 and have three children; Amanda Brynn, Evan Samuel, and Sophia Isabel.  It wasn’t always easy for the golf couple royals.   Both Evan and Amy suffered complications after his birth. Unfortunately, that’s not the only brush with health issues the Mickelson family has had to deal with. In 2009 Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer and Phil took a leave from the tour to be with his family.  After multiple treatments and an extended battle, she successfully conquered the disease.  Today Phil Mickelson’s wife Amy is still cancer free and active in many breast cancer charities.

IGNORE THE NOISE

Phil and Amy appear to be a modern version of the Cleaver family.  Unfortunately, people always seem to want to take happy people down.  The internet, where anyone can start a rumor, was flooded with baseless claims about their marriage.  Jealousy?  Envy?  Boredom?  Your guess is as good as ours.  We’ve seen and heard stories like Phil having an illegitimate child, or Amy engaging in an affair with Michael Jordan.  Yes.  Michael Jordan.  In 2018, anyone with any modicum of success is subject to wild rumors, that can be completely baseless.   26 years later, it seems like the Mickelson clan is doing just fine, thank you.

Amy remains a ride or die chick for Phil.  After the fiasco at the US Open where the stale old PGA press corps tore him apart for putting a moving ball, Amy came to his defense.  Phil was ever the diplomat following the incident.  But, Amy let the world know that Phil was willing to do whatever the PGA wanted from him.  Golfweek highlights Amy’s comments:

“When he heard that he called Mike Davis and said ‘If I’ve done something that crosses the line that much, then I need to withdraw immediately,’ ” Amy said.

Davis assured Phil that he was well within the rules. He closed with a 1-under 69 on a much more receptive Shinnecock Hills.

“You know it’s not his finest moment,” said Amy, “but hopefully he’ll learn from it. Like anybody, good people make mistakes. We all have a moment in life sometimes and that was kind of a moment I think for him.”

The family has great perspective when it counts.  Seems like they’re all able to block the noise.  Now.  The real test.  Can they block this noise?

Take this latest scandal with Peyton Manning’s wife. She is being presented, by a story at Al Jazeera, as the recipient of multiple shipments of HGH. The Internet has taken hold of this story, to say the least. People are jumping to the conclusion the just because Ashley received HGH – that must mean Peyton was using it. Manning’s retirement will certainly stem the hoopla following Ashley Manning’s prescription history.

Two years ago, the Manning family was contending with more drama. There were wholly unsubstantiated rumors about an extramarital relationship coming between them, and that Peyton Manning’s divorce was imminent. Fast forward a couple years later, the repeat Super Bowl runner up QB appears as happy as ever in wedded bliss. Peyton Manning, wife Ashley Manning, son Marshall and daughter Mosley Manning are running strong and have nothing coming between them.

In a very meta sort of way, we can actually look at what the Internet has taught us for the good and the bad. Peyton Manning’s wife Ashley Manning is one of the first wives we ever covered on PlayerWives.com back in 2009. In the six-plus years since launching the post, we’ve seen rumors galore. An unfounded rumor about Peyton being in an extramarital relationship with local Indianapolis meteorologist Angela Buchman ran rampant for a good chunk of his time with the Colts.

Conversely, back in 2011, we learned through the Internet about Peyton Manning’s kids. The Marion County Health Department confirmed that Peyton Manning’s wife Ashley Manning gave birth to a beautiful set of twin children. According to birth certificates on file, Peyton Manning’s twins, Marshall Williams Manning and Mosley Thompson Manning, were born on March 31, 2011.

Introduced in College

Peyton Manning was introduced to his wife by Ashley’s next door neighbor during their Freshman year of college. They were married on St. Patrick’s day, 2001.

Now, we’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again now. It is not the agenda of Playerwives to start rumors. We have, however, come across some widely passed rumors in our years, and thought worth passing along this gem (which is more than more than likely to be false).

There have been a lot of theories and rumors to support the idea that there are many “open marriages” amongst the ranks of professional athletes. And as has been the case so often, we have found rumors that suggest that Peyton Manning is cheating on his wife Ashley Manning. These same rumors suggest he is dating local Indianapolis meteorologist Angela Buchman. The theory goes on to say that the Mannings heard about this rumor online. Then, in an effort to throw people off the scent, invited Ms. Buchman to multiple Manning charity events and public appearances. The rumor continues that Buchman is on the Manning payroll to keep quiet.

Chase Elliott’s girlfriend Kaylie Green is a  college student who is set to graduate in 2019.

Before you start freaking out, remember that Chase Elliott was born in 1995 himself.

A young couple living life to it’s fullest.  Chase just picked up his first cup win at Watkins Glenn in 2018, and it’s setting him up for plenty more down the line.  Chase Elliott’s girlfriend on the other hand, is a sorority member of Alpha Delta Omega (in case you’re keeping up with a list of sororities and a checklist at home). Kaylie is a football fan, and she’s recently brought up that the upside to the Super Bowl and the end of the football season is that the NASCAR season starts the day after. That means her boyfriend, Mr. Elliott, was revving up just as the gridiron boys were powering down. Kaylie’s father, David Green, is also a professional driver. The same is true for Chase’s dad, Bill Elliott. Racing runs in the blood for these two.

Chase and Kaylie share a lot in common

Like pretty much everyone else from South Carolina, Chase Elliott’s girlfriend Kaylie is pretty religious. She often shares passages from the Bible about how the Lord is her strength, etc. Between the two of them, Chase and Kaylie are pretty serious sports people. They love to ski, and after Christmas they flew from the Carolinas to Colorado to get some slope slicing going. Earlier in December, Kaylie visited a friend in Boston and went skating. However, she attends the University of South Carolina so the trip to Boston was purely for fun. That was only her second visit to the city of Boston. The first came only two months before that. Kaylie was sure to get a picture of herself jumping in mid-air and kicking her heels together. Good photo opps abound in the Boston Common.

Kaylie’s family has been friends with Jeff Gordon and his family for a long time, according to Kaylie’s mom. She posted a message wishing Jeff luck back in Novemeber of 2015. This essentially means that Chase Elliot’s girlfriend is as connected to NASCAR people as Chase and his family are. That’s saying a lot if you consider that Chase and his father are very well known in the NASCAR community.

Firstly, the big news for Eli Manning and wife Abby Manning came in 2019 when finally, FINALLY, Eli and Abby had a son.  it wasn’t for lack of trying, as they have three previous kids, all daughters.  In addition to Lucy and Ava, Caroline was born in 2015  Charles “Charlie” Elisha Manning was born on Super Bowl Sunday, of 2019.  Of course a Manning kid would be born on Super Bowl Sunday.  Of course. I wonder if Eli was secretly bummed when he missed the train for having a son not once, not twice, but thrice. He acts fulfilled, but come on – he had to want an heir to the quarterbacking throne of greatness.  Now he finally does!

Abby has decorated their 3000 square foot condo in Hoboken with all kinds of goodies. I live a few miles from Hoboken just across the Hudson. Hoboken has turned into one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the NYC area. For starters, the place is one of those Bill Gatesy-type joints.

Everything’s automated and controlled with a touch of a button. Speakers hidden in bookshelves, thermostats that sense who’s in the room and adjust accordingly. Courtesans of the night that fall from chutes when the wife and kids are away. No, that last one is untrue.

Apparently Eli Manning’s wife, the former Abby McGrew, is a devoted philanthropist. The couple’s many gifts have included money for St. Vincent’s hospital to build a “holistic birthing center”. The layperson often refers to this as a “dome of pain”.

Abby and Eli have been together since college, so of course they make sizable contributions to the University of Mississippi. Giving money to any institution of learning in Mississippi automatically makes you a saint. Mississippi native John Grisham needs to include Eli and Abby in a football related courtroom bestseller just for that. I don’t know about you, but I would read that.

Matt DiBenedetto’s wife Taylor DiBenedetto bit the bullet when she decided to take on his last name after they married.

Let’s be honest.  It’s a bit of a mouthful.

It’s true. I watched part of their wedding since it’s on Youtube. They included a Michael Buffer introduction with “Get Ready For This” by 2 Unlimited blaring in the background and Matt pumping his fists. If you like American cliches, Matt and Taylor walking out to the reception together would fit nicely next to the clip in “Casino” where the crowds stream into modern Vegas holding big gulps and buffet coupons.  They decorated the reception nicely, of course. There were plenty of flower arrangements and such.

Taylor herself is a lovely person who works as an administrative assistant at a construction company. She says she developed excellent customer service skills and a desire to grow and learn. Since her online cover letter is enthusiastic, I have no doubt she likes to apply herself to work. She originally graduated from James Madison University with a hospitality management major. She should start a NASCAR-themed hotel! Taylor can ask Matt to show up every once in awhile with other drivers. It’s time for Matt DiBenedetto’s wife to fulfill her dream!

Matt includes cool pictures of Taylor in his social media. She dressed up in a racing suit back in July because she drove his car around. Matt also showed his fans a picture of some delicious chicken parmigiana he cooked for Taylor last year. Apparently he’s not a bad cook. Matt DiBenedetto’s wife showed her disapproval after he grew a mustache for a throwback weekend in Darlington last year. I also agree with her. Matt’s mustache doesn’t work so well. In early February, Matt and Taylor went on a cruise. Taylor competed in a lip sync battle in front of a crowd, and she won!
